Funding advice, and the capital that follows from it.

We look at what a business actually banks, tell you honestly what that will support, and then place the file with the funders most likely to take it. Three months of statements, one conversation, and terms set out in full before you commit to anything.

The sequence

Four steps, and you are free to stop at any of them.

An application is a request for advice and a set of options. It is not an undertaking to borrow, and it leaves no mark on your credit file.

  1. Tell us who is applying

Silverbrook opens with the person rather than the paperwork: your name, how to reach you, and the business you run. It takes a minute and it means the first call is to a person rather than to a record.

  2. Describe the business

How it is structured, what it does, how long it has traded and where it operates. Everything is kept as you enter it, so the form can be left and resumed from the same link.

  3. Send three months of statements

Business bank statements as PDFs. This is the evidence the whole assessment rests on, and it is the single thing that decides whether an answer arrives today or next week.

  4. Read the terms, then decide

The amount, the total cost, the instalment and the number of them. An adviser talks you through it before anything is signed, and declining costs nothing.

What we can fund, and what we look at

Where it goes

Capital for the things a trading business cannot postpone.

The gap in the month

Wages and suppliers falling due before the receivables land. The most ordinary reason a file opens here, and the easiest one to size.

Buying ahead of demand

Stock for a season that has to be ordered now, or a bulk price that is only available while the order is placed this week.

Replacing what broke

The van, the oven, the machine the whole operation runs through. Waiting to save for it usually costs more than funding it.

A second site or a new contract

Work that has to be staffed and stocked before it pays. We size the advance against the deposits, not against the optimism.

Plainly

The things this firm will not do.

  • Assessment is unbilled, and hearing where the business stands costs nothing.
  • No hard credit search is run in order to answer an application.
  • Banking credentials are never requested; a statement reaches us as a PDF you exported.
  • Applicant details are not sold, and they are not passed to unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
  • Quoted figures survive contact with the agreement, or they are not quoted.
Worth knowing

Four things that tend to decide how this goes.

The statements do the work

Consistent deposits across three months carry more weight than a credit score, and a difficult year some time ago rarely ends a conversation.

Have the PDFs ready

Files wait on statements more than on anything else. With them to hand at the start, most applications are settled in a single sitting.

One adviser throughout

Whoever takes your file keeps it. You will not be handed onward or asked the same questions by a second desk.

Ask before you commit

If a structure does not read cleanly, say so before signing. Changing the shape of an offer beforehand is routine; afterwards it is not.

Asked often

The questions that come up before anyone applies.

How long does this take, start to finish?

Around five minutes of typing. Where the statements arrive with it, the answer is usually same-day and the funds a day behind the executed agreements. Where they do not, the file simply waits.

Does applying touch my credit file?

No. A band is recorded as background and nothing is searched to produce our answer. A funder's own search, where one happens, comes before execution and is flagged to you beforehand.

We are already repaying an advance. Is that a problem?

It is normal, and it is asked about directly. It changes what can sensibly be added on top; on its own it is not a reason to decline.

How much can a business of our size expect?

The honest answer is that it follows the deposits rather than the industry or the headcount. Send the statements and we will tell you the figure the record supports, which is more useful than a range.

All the questions, answered at length

Speak to us

A short conversation first, if you would prefer one.

Plenty of owners want one point settled before they enter anything at all. Beginning that way is reasonable, and no charge attaches to it.
