What we fund, and what the assessment reads.
One kind of funding, sized against the trading record rather than chosen from a menu.
A single facility
Silverbrook arranges one thing: a cash advance measured against trading income and recovered from it. Owners sometimes arrive expecting to pick between a equipment line, an inventory line and an overdraft. There is no such menu here, and the intended use is noted on the file as background for the funder rather than as a category that changes the shape of the facility.
Scale
The advances placed through this office range widely, and the honest guide is arithmetic rather than a bracket on a page: the figure follows average monthly income into the account. Two businesses in the same trade with the same headcount can support very different advances, and the statements settle it in minutes. Ask us what your record supports rather than what the ceiling is.
The inputs to an assessment
- Income across a quarter. Totals by month, how regularly money lands, and whether the trend is holding. Most of the weight sits here.
- Age of the business. A quarter of banked trading is the minimum that can be assessed at all; a longer record usually prices better.
- Commitments in place. What is being serviced now, and what remains on it.
- A credit band. Recorded for background. It shapes the discussion; it rarely decides it.
- Signing authority. The registered entity, and a person entitled to bind it.
Cost, expressed in four numbers
Advance, total recovery, periodic payment, count of payments. Those four reach you before a signature is asked for, and an adviser reads them aloud on the telephone so nothing depends on a document being opened. Where a structure carries anything unusual, that call is where it is explained.
Files we have to turn away
- Trading income that never passes through a business account.
- An entity too new to have banked a quarter of trade.
- Requests that are, on inspection, for domestic rather than trading purposes.
- Activities our funders are barred from supporting. Where that is the case it is said at once, rather than discovered by you after a week of silence.
Once an advance is running
Recovery runs to the schedule attached to the agreement. An owner watching trade soften should be on the telephone before an instalment rather than after one, since what can be arranged sits almost wholly on the near side of the difficulty. Where a first facility is retired cleanly, a second is usually available and takes considerably less time, since the record is already on hand.
